A new education program to excite and inspire all Australian children. Learning with League is a primary school learning program developed by the NSW Department of Education and mapped for use in Victoria, Queensland and the ACT. The program covers lower, middle and upper primary school and is suitable for integration in the teaching of society, history and environment, and physical education.
Learning with League incorporates lessons and practical activities in the key learning areas of culture and identity, heritage and traditions, significant people and roles, and rights and responsibilities in society.
Through the learning program, children are asked to research and examine their family history and traditions, and local and national history as it relates to Rugby League.
The idea for a Rugby League education program evolved from the high number of requests to the National Rugby League from teachers across the country for Rugby League related material to use in the classroom. “My students are all mad about their League and it’s one of the few things I know will engage them in class…” was the common refrain.
Learning with League is the Game’s response to these teachers and students. We believe all Australian children can be inspired to develop a love of learning, through their interest and passion for Rugby League.
